Babe Ruth

After a very successful fall season, SCRA will again be offering Babe Ruth baseball this spring.  Babe Ruth does not begin until after the middle school baseball season.  Team practices along with games will not begin until May and will run through the end of June/early July.  Specific dates will be announced later this winter.   We will be offering Babe Ruth teams at two different age divisions.  We will offer 13u as well as a 14/15u team.  The number of teams will be based on the number of players registered at each age division.  Babe Ruth requires a mandatory try-out which will be conducted in May.  We do our best to place every player on a team, however cutting players is a possibility.  Any player cut from Babe Ruth would receive a full refund.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND POLICIES

Founded in 1951, Babe Ruth Baseball League was created for ballplayers ages 13-15 who wished to continue their baseball playing experience beyond the age of 12. This is where players get their baseball cleats muddy for the first time on standard 90' diamonds under Official Baseball Rules used by Major League Baseball. In this division, teams are eligible to enter tournament competition and move along the tournament trail, culminating in a World Series. Three World Series are held in this division: one for 13 Year-Old players, one for 13 and 14 Year-Old Players, and the renowned 13-15 World Series

Sport Fee: $280  Fee includes Uniform (Jersey, Hat, socks, belt), field rental, maintenance and umpires.

Players  13-15 – Any player born prior to May 1, 2007 and on or after May 1, 2004 will be eligible for Babe Ruth 13-15 League competition.

All practices and home games will be played at JM Robinson Middle School.  During the months of March and April, we will have Spring Training practices on the weekends for any registered SCRA Babe Ruth player.  It is strongly recommended that all Babe Ruth players who do not make their middle school team attend the Spring Training practices during the months in March and April.  More information with specific dates will be shared once the Union County Babe Ruth League meets during the month of January.

Registration is open now and will remain open until May 1, 2020.  (You must be registered to participate in any spring training practice in March and April.)
